The MDR AKTUELL news app offers a comprehensive and timely approach to staying informed about current events in the regions of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia, as well as significant news from Germany and around the world.

This app encompasses news across various sectors including politics, economy, society, culture, and sports, alongside in-depth coverage on sustainability, environment, family, and digitalization.

One notable feature is the Regional Filter, which allows users to tailor their news feeds specifically to Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, or Thuringia.

The app also includes a Live Section, where users can stream live broadcasts of MDR's news programs and events. Its design is optimized for tablets, facilitating multitasking through a split-screen feature that enables users to operate multiple apps simultaneously. Additionally, the floating player for iPhone and iPad allows videos or live streams to be viewed in a separate window while navigating the app.

 <li>Shareability: News articles and alerts can be easily forwarded to others.</li>

Live Section:

The app provides access to live radio streams from MDR AKTUELL along with regional options from MDR SACHSEN, MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT, and MDR THÜRINGEN. Users can select their preferred region for localized content. Furthermore, televised news formats such as MDR AKTUELL, MDR UM 11, and others are available via livestreams.

All live broadcasts remain accessible for up to 24 hours. The app also covers live reporting from press conferences, events, exhibitions, and more.

Regional Filter - Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia:

This feature allows users to receive customized regional news updates from their respective states in central Germany. Users will be informed about developments in various sectors tailored specifically for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. The app conveniently opens with the last active regional feed displayed for user accessibility.
